How to set up a Shopify shop with Microsoft Business Central

Are you looking for a seamless integration between your Shopify store and Microsoft Business Central?

At the end of last year, Shopify announced the launch of its Global ERP Program, which allows select Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) partners to build direct integrations into the Shopify App Store. For the first time, Shopify is directly partnering with leading ERP providers globally, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Oracle NetSuite, Infor, Acumatica, and Brightpearl, with more to come in the future.

Certainly, this is good news for Shopify merchants as Shopify’s Global ERP Program will give them a centralized system that connects their commerce platform to key business data like financials and inventory so they can optimize operations and processes.

Hooking up your Shopify store with your back-end system Dynamics 365 Business Central takes care of the business processes such as order picking, shipping & invoicing.

You’ll not only save money but you’ll also win precious time you can spend on doing what you love most: growing your business.

Now the good stuff! How do I start?

You need to have a Shopify store, if you don’t have one you can create one here. Once you are ready with your shop you need to connect it to your Microsoft Business Central account. To do this you need to install an application on your store. We recommend the Scaptify app. Although there are multiple unlisted apps available on the market.

Scaptify is a good choice because:

  • By automating your process, you can save time and effort by avoiding double entry, human errors, and delays. Streamlining the procedure with our Connector will result in fewer errors and delays.
  • Simple setup: in a matter of minutes, set up an automatic sync between your online store and your back-end system.
  • Automatic sync: in a matter of minutes, set up an automatic sync between your online store and your back-end system. Avoid two points of failure by switching to a more reliable, stable, and efficient system.

When you are ready installing the app you need to sync your products form Business Central to your store. After this upload all the product information in Business Central will be available in Shopify.

Orders automatically go to Business Central. No need to worry about that. This ensures that you can take care of the fulfillment processes, handling, stock management etc. as you were doing before.

Payment statuses sync from Shopify to Business Central. This way you can keep track of the money coming in.

Once an order is shipped the status will be updated in Shopify, and the tracking e-mail will be sent.

You can find the Scaptify app in the app store here. Did you know that the Scaptify team collaborated closely with the Radikal team to create the app in the app store?
